Founded in Huntington Village in 1981 by Neal Hoffman and Glen Grayson, HGLV Architects is celebrating its 45th year in business, having completed a wealth of diverse project types that extend from White Plains to the eastern tip of Long Island.  We attribute the success and sustainability of our practice to the talented group of people we are lucky enough to call our team, currently comprised of three Partners, Nicholas D. Loizides, Michael Vandrei and Catherine Vandrei, and staff including registered architects, LEED accredited professionals, interior designers, recent graduates and office administrator.

All projects at HGLV are lead by a Partner who our clients engage with directly, to ensure creative design solutions and professionalism throughout the process from concept through completion.  Our predecessors, who started this firm as a team of two, understood the value of high end service and insisted on that being our underlying principle as our firm evolved through the years.  We understand the importance of being accessible to our clients, who rely on us to guide them through the complexities of planning, design and construction.  Through our extensive experience, we pride ourselves in our ability to address the unique challenges and requirements of each individual project, and endeavor to find the right balance between meeting a client’s program, staying on budget, and being sensitive to the surrounding context.

HGLV has been recognized with several local, regional and AIA awards for our work, and we are proud to be leaders in the community.  Our firm has recently been the recipient of the Long Island Business News Award for a Top Mixed-Use Renovation in 2023, an AIA Archi Award for Architectural Interiors for a Private Residence in Lloyd Harbor in 2024, and a 2017 AIA Archi Award Commendation for the Historic Trade School Restoration and Expansion of the Huntington Historical Society, each of which the current partners were actively involved in.  Additional accolades were received for "The Space at Westbury” in Westbury Village which earned the “2011 Sense of Place” Smart Growth Award from Vision Long Island, and a 2009 Regional CotY award winning design for a major renovation of a residence on Makamah Beach in Northport.  We have also received Proclamations from the Town of Huntington and Village of Northport for the rehabilitation, renovation and preservation of historic buildings. This diversity has served us well over the years, as HGLV has the knowledge base, experience and ability to lead virtually any project regardless of type, size or complexity.
